HOLIDAY PROGRAMMES

During the school holidays Sandow provides a range of activities in addition to our regular lessons. See ‘Lessons’ for further information. Day courses which combine Pony Care and Riding are very popular. They provide a fun way to learn and are highly informative, with certificates awarded at the successful completion of each level. The levels are structured progressively, covering the basics of management required for those wishing to own there own pony, or become part of our competition teams.

Courses are available for children and adults. The Learn to Ride Holiday Classes are a great introduction to riding and suitable for the complete beginner. A four day course covering the basic stop, start and steering aids, walk and trot progressing towards you first canter. These skills are required before joining regular term class lessons. Care of Pony days give children the opportunity to “own a pony for a day”, topics covered practically include: mucking out, preparing feed and water, catching a pony, grooming, putting on saddles and bridles, a riding lesson and tack cleaning.
