SPECIAL OLYMPIC EQUESTRIAN TEAM Sandow has a policy of inclusion and is proud to coach the Canterbury Special Olympics Equestrian Team. The team members rode in the Asian Pacific Games and also won the annual regional shield competition at Timaru. We wish them good luck in the future preparations for the 2011 Special Olympics in Greece. Classes run for unassisted and assisted riders. Ribbon days, regional and national games are staged through out the year. As with all our riders, personal requirements are assessed and catered for. The classes are suitable for children over eight years, weight limit applies. Beginner riders welcome. Click here to go to Gallery to see more photos Regional results
The Equestrian Team went to Blenheim as a very new team full of high hopes. The opening ceremony was a great sight to see with a sea of red and black full of our athletes and supporters. It's a shame that there wasn’t medals for the best team support and the grooviest dancers, cause the Cantab's would have come away with loads more medals, as it was we brought home a good share of them. Our young team had an awesome time and are already looking ahead to the next event! Bring on the Nationals. Thanks to Blenheim for giving us a great time and making sure the weather held together. |
