WHAT TO BRING

CLOTHING:

Medium Protection Safety helmets are compulsory. If you do not own one then we will loan you one for the first four months. If you are still riding with us after that, then we expect you to buy your own helmet.

Jodhpur boots, smooth soled gumboots (PARA’s Terra Nova gumboots) are Ideal. Heavy laced shoes with a stepped heel are safe footwear. You will not be allowed to ride in running shoes, shoes without heels or heavily ribbed or wide shoes or boots.

Trackpants or jodhpurs are comfortable to ride in. Shorts not permitted. Jeans tend to chafe. Jackets must be closed when riding to avoid flapping and unsettling the horse/pony.

WINTER:

Woollen jerseys and WATERPROOF jackets are essential, as is warm hands and feet. Gumboots are very cold in winter so woollen socks are a must.

SUMMER:

To reduce the risk of sunburn wear a long sleeved cotton shirt, this also reduces damage if you fall. Don't forget your sunblock.

PAYMENT:

To be made PRIOR to the start of each lesson, so please arrive 10 minutes before your lesson as all lessons start and finish on time. Cash only except for payments of block bookings. Please add 35c cheque fee. Please note we do not have EFTPOS facilities.

MEMBERSHIP:

You are all members right from your first lesson. This entitles you to the cheaper rate for lessons. To stay a member, you must keep your attendance at 80%. If it drops below then you will be charged the casual rate until minimum membership attendance is regained.

LATE ARRIVALS:

We cannot guarantee a horse or pony if you are late. Please be on time, late arrivals disrupt the class.

WET DAYS:

The school WILL NOT CANCEL. If it really is too wet to ride then we go under cover and learn more about horse and pony care. Dress WARMLY and bring a WATERPROOF RAINCOAT with you. PLEASE NOTE YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR YOUR LESSON IF YOU FAIL TO ARRIVE ON A WET DAY.

CANCELLATIONS:

If you are unable to ride we require at least 36 hours notice. The school is on call minder so it is never engaged or out. Please leave a message, NAME and PHONE NUMBER.

CANCELLATIONS MADE UNDER 36 HOURS INCUR A $5 PENALTY FEE. RIDERS WHO FAIL TO TURN UP WITHOUT NOTIFICATION WILL BE CHARGED THE FULL FEE. THESE FEES MUST BE PAID BEFORE THE NEXT LESSON.

Riders who fail to turn up two weeks In a row without notification will lose their place in the class.
